We identified significant brand and legal risks. We also clarified the potential user value of public ratings: keeping control of the public information on their cybersecurity. The CEO invested in more time for a redesign, leading to a successful launch and a Chrome extension.
Problem
A cybersecurity ratings SaaS startup wanted to become ubiquitous. To do so, they planned to publish their top-level ratings on the public internet. But they were developing their solution with minimal design and zero research input. So risks and opportunities connected to the concept were unknown.
